June 30, 2007, that was the date the iPHONE 1.0 came out and the last time I was truely amazing. That was 18 months ago. I need another hit. The Consumer Electronics Show, held each year in Las Vegas (to previously larger and larger crowds), has generally been the place to go to get some consumer electronics WOW.

I am worried that the WOW is gone.

Sure TV may get a little bigger, but does that compare to the WOW of seeing your first 50" LCD that you thought you could actually afford.

Sure Phones may be a little faster, but does that compare to the WOW of seeing the iPhone and the pinching of you family photo to make it bigger for the first time.

Sure there may be VoIP, but does that compare to the WOW of hearing a voice from a relative 2000 miles away that would have cost you $2 per minute now for free.

I miss the WOW. Every year I return to CES to get a chance of getting some WOW. I don't have big hopes for WOW in 2009, but I do have dreams.
