Assalamu Alaikum Oh-rahmatullah .......

তৃতীয় বিশ্বের গরীবতম দেশ বাংলাদেশ। চারিদিকে মাকড়শার জালের মত ছড়ানো ছিটানো মৃত্যু ফাঁদ। নতুন নতুন পন্থা সংযোজিত হচ্ছে প্রতিনিয়ত। প্রতিকারের চেষ্টা নেই। আর থাকলেও তা যৎসামান্য। আম-কলাতে ‘কার্বাইড’ বা ‘এ্যাসিটিলিন’, আপেল-আঙ্গুর তথা ফলে কিংবা মাছ-মাংস ও দুধে ‘ফরমালিন’ হরহামেশাই মেশানো হচ্ছে জনসম্মুখে। দেশীয় খাদ্যের এ ভেজাল পুরানো ব্যাপার হলেও আমদানীকৃত পণ্য যথা- শিশু খাদ্য, গুড়ো দুধ, ক্যাডবেরী-ক্যান্ডিতে ‘মেলামাইন’ নতুন খবর। 'মরার উপর খাড়ার ঘা’-র মত। আমাদের এই গরীব দেশে আমদানী হয় না এমন কোন জিনিষ নেই বললেই চলে।

There was a post/blog here about the validity and worthiness of the Nobel Prize of Professor Yunus. I just want to comment on that.

My main point is that Dr Yunus is very much worthy of the Nobel.

So please know more before putting emotional arguments against it, or wrongfully worshiping him as a saint for winning the Nobel. There are 800 people since 1900 who have won the Nobel. 130 of them were in peace, the rest are in physics, chemistry, medicine/physiology, literature, and economics (strictly the economics prize is Nobel memorial Prize - but carries the same prestige and money).

All over the world, a University Professor is evaluated with his research activities. A professor’s main duties are to create knowledge through extensive research, publishing papers in reputed journals, doing research projects and making patents.

Once, as a teen, I was a serious listener of Prof. Z Iqbal's thoughts as well as his nice and touching way of presentations. I thank him for bringing some of the very important issues particulary in the last half of the second part and in the third part of his writing.

With due respect to him, I would like draw kind attention regarding Prof. Jafar Iqbal

আমরা জানতে চাই, এ দেশে সব ধর্মের সব জাতি-গোষ্ঠীর মানুষ পাশাপাশি সমান অধিকার নিয়ে থাকতে পারবে কি না। আমরা জানতে চাইব, নির্বাচনে জেতার পর এ দেশে আবার নতুন করে হতভাগিনী পূর্ণিমাদের হাহাকারে আকাশ-বাতাস প্রকম্পিত হবে কি না। আমরা জানতে চাইব, এ দেশটিকে ধর্মান্ধ মানুষের দেশে পাল্টে দেওয়া হবে কি না। দেশের হাজার বছরের সংস্কৃতিকে ধর্মের নামে জলাঞ্জলি দেওয়া হবে কি না। আমরা জানতে চাইব, এ দেশকে আধুনিক সেক্যুলার দেশ হিসেবে গড়ে তোলা হবে কি না।
