4 DU students, 3 cops injured in clash: Police van set on fire

Four Dhaka University students and three policemen were injured in a clash near the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital over a minor issue at noon yesterday.

Eyewitnesses said four students were arrested for accusation of attacking the three policemen they were admitted to the DMCH with severe injuries.

Mothers of the candidates, who came out successful in the 1st phase result the 27th BCS examinations, submitted a memorandum to the chief adviser yesterday demanding return of the jobs of their sons and daughters.

Mahfuzur Rahman, a candidate, said a three-member team on behalf of the mothers submitted the memorandum to the personal assistant of CA in the morning at his office.

50 students hurt in fresh clashes at DU

At least 50 more students of Dhaka University were injured yesterday on the second day of clashes between students of Sir A F Rahman Hall And Zahurul Haq Hall.

Witnesses said, following the Monday incident some students of ZH Hall taunted students of AFR Hall addressing them 'Vouya' (useless), when the news spread around students of the AFR Hall and held Babu and severely beat him up with iron sticks and cricket stumps.
