Black foreign particle found in intravenous injection

A black foreign particle was found in an ampoule of Amibac 500mg injection manufactured by Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd and widely used for short-term treatment of serious infections.

A two-year-old boy died at a private clinic in the port city yesterday due to wrong treatment, his family members alleged.

The boy, Sabbir Ahmad Chowdhury Ishat, was admitted to Medical Centre, a private clinic at OR Nizam Road, with high fever on the night of October 4, said his father Golam Sarwar, manager of Kabir Steel, a steel plant.
