All-rounder Naeem Islam achieved a rare feat when he struck six sixes in an over in the Dhaka Premier League on Friday to set a unique record in Bangladesh’s domestic cricket. World Cup 2011 :Bangladesh thanks co-hosts

Bangla-desh has thanked co-hosts India and Sri Lanka for allowing them to play all their six group matches of the World Cup 2011 at home. ‘We are really grateful to them [India and Sri Lanka]. Without their co-operation it would not have been possible,’ AHM Mustafa Kamal, the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, said at a briefing on Wednesday.

Dido sacked as head football coach

Bangladesh Football Federation has sacked Brazilian Edson Silva Dido as the head coach of the national football team. Dido has been replaced by Shahidur Rahman Shantoo, with Saiful Bari Tito being his deputy. Satyajit Das Rupu will helm the team as manager. The BFF at an emergency meeting of the executive committee made the decision. The team picked up by Dido has been dissolved as well and the training camp has been suspended.
