72.78 pc pass HSC exams: 20,136 students secure GPA-5

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations 2009 held under the country's ten education boards were published Saturday with average pass percentage of 72.78.

The overall results showed a little fall in both the pass parentage and the number of top-graders (GPA-5) over last year's marks. The average pass percentage was 76.19 last year.

Combined SSC pass rate fall, GPA-5 scores up

Combined SSC and equivalent results, out on Tuesday, for all the 10 education boards showed an average pass rate of 70.89 percent—a 1.29 percent fall from the total number of students who passed the test last year.
