DSE index nears 3400-mark

The benchmark price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday neared 3400-mark, reaching at all time high of 3392.02. The index surged on the week's opening, fuelled mainly by pharmaceuticals, power and energy, textile and service sectors' issues.

DSE, CSE big fall amid selling spree

Country's prime burse-the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday experienced a heavy fall amid selling spree among the investors. During the day DSE's general index lost 32.20 points or 1.22 per cent while the all share price index fell by 31.10 points or 1.42 per cent.

Nearly seventy per cent of the issues traded on the day saw losses on the day.

DSE sees high turnover

Turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange on the opening trading day of the week, Sunday, went up to Tk 422.49 crore, the highest since January 5, because of an increased participation of investors, market operators said.

On the day, the market indicator increased by Tk 120.34 crore from the Thursday’s Tk 302.15 crore. On January 5, DSE turnover was Tk 464.22 crore.

DSE registers fall

As investors lifted quick profits Monday following an uptrend in the market for two consecutive gains, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) registered a slight fall.
