Two leading public universities of the country-University of Dhaka (DU) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have been ranked as 4922 and 3801 in global position respectively according to Webometrics January survey.

Book on DU incidents in August '07 launched

A book titled 'Dhaka University: Auguster Ghotona, Greftar-Remand O Karagarer Dinguli' (Dhaka University: Incidents in August, Arrest-Remand and Diary in the Jail') by Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid was launched at the TSC auditorium on the DU campus yesterday.

Admission seeker drowns in DU pond

An admission seeker drowned in the Shahidullah Hall pond at Dhaka University (DU) yesterday.

Mahmudul Haq Saikat, son of Rezaul Haq of Chamelibagh in the city, came to DU to buy admission form for Institute of Business Administration (IBA) admission test.

Saikat secured GPA-5 in this year's HSC examination from city's Notre Dame College.

Professor Samarjit Roy Choudhury inaugurated the workshop. The paintings culled from the workshop was exhibited in Germany this month. The venue was FzKKE, Euskirchen.
