Tk 1.55 billion development projects approved for DU

The Ministry of Education has approved various development projects of Dhaka University worth about Taka 1.55 billion, reports BSS.

Talking to BSS Thursday, DU Director of Planning and Development Zahirul Haque said DU got the approval for implementing a series of development projects on March 17.

‘Govt must suspend international oil, gas tenders

A group of academics said Saturday that the caretaker government had no authority to invite international bids for oil and gas exploration and must suspend all such activities.

They made a number of recommendations including giving all necessary assistance and finance for seismic surveys to BAPEX, the state body for exploration and extraction of mineral resources.

Judicial probe report to be made public

The Council of Advisers yesterday okayed a proposal for making public the findings of a one-member judicial committee that probed the August 20-22 violence at Dhaka University.

The approval was given at a meeting of the council with Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed in the chair.
