A case was filed on Sunday against six people for Saturday’s explosion at a ship-breaking yard here that left four workers killed and 15 others injured.

Two AL leaders among four hurt in city bomb blast

At least four people, including two local Awami League leaders, were injured in an explosion Gulistan area in the capital yesterday afternoon. The four victims were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where condition of one identified as Nasiruddin, 44 is stated to be serious, doctors said, adding the others - Nazrul Islam, Kartik Das and Abdur Rashid -- were released after first aid.

Angry villagers force Chevron to stop gas field survey

Angry villagers on Wednesday forced the US company Chevron to stop seismic survey at Baligaon in Kamalganj upazila after some houses developed cracks following explosions carried out during the survey.

2 units shut down after explosion

Two units of Ashuganj Power Station were shut down yesterday after a fiery explosion severely burned four people including two engineers of the station.

The two engineers and two electrician of the station were conducting repair work when a breaker of Unit-5 exploded and caught fire at around 11:45am, said sources at the power station.

3 killed in N’ganj boiler blast

At least three workers were killed and 15 others injured in a re-rolling mill boiler explosion at Kachpur in Narayanganj early today.

Two of the deceased were identified as Mojakker alias Mujahid and Rabiul.
