Govt, Rajuk asked to reserve plots for 130 at Uattara

The High Court on Wednesday directed the government and the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) authorities to keep plots at Uattara 3rd phase reserved for 130 people whose allotment were cancelled during the caretaker government. The HC bench of Justice Shahidul Islam and Justice Syeda Afsar Jahan passed the order upon applications filed by five people whose plots were cancelled.

Explain legality of 223 bureaucrats' promotion: HC

The High Court today issued a rule upon the government to explain within four weeks why the promotion of 223 government officials would not be declared illegal. The HC bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury issued the rule upon a writ petition.

HC asks govt to stop river encroachment in 7 days

The High Court on Thursday asked the authorities to visit the Burganga and Turag rivers and stop all kinds of encroachment and dirt-filling in the rivers at Mirpur and Hazaribagh.
