Govt seriously taken incident of attack on journalist: home ministry

The government has seriously taken the incident of attack on a journalist in the city on Saturday night although any evidence of throwing bomb on his vehicle was not found through investigation. ‘The investigation is going on and if anyone is proved to be guilty would be brought under law,’ a home ministry press release Sunday said adding: ‘The home minister has instructed the authorities concerned for giving exemplary punishment to those who will be responsible for the attack.’

Mahbub Matin, joint news editor of private TV Channel i, died of cardiac arrest at his city residence on Saturday morning. He was 40. Family sources said Mahub returned to his Siddeswari residence alone Friday night after having dinner at his in-law's house with his wife and minor son at Shantibagh.
