আশি'র দশকের শেষের দিকে টিম বার্নার্স-লি যে ওয়েব (Web) নিয়ে কাজ শুরু করেছিলেন, সেই ওয়েব যে আজকে এমন পর্যায়ে এসে দাঁড়াবে সেটা তিনি নিজেই ভেবেছিলেন কিনা সন্দেহ আছে। ওয়েব প্রযুক্তি দিনদিন সমৃদ্ধ হচ্ছে, আমাদের জীবনের যাবতীয় প্রয়োজন মেটানোর প্রায় সবকিছুই এখন ওয়েবএ পাওয়া যায়। মানুষের সাথে মানুষের এতো সহজ যোগা্যোগ এবং তথ্যের আদান-প্রদান পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে আগে কখনো হয়নি।
