Govt probing into mourning day incident

Home Minister Sahara Khatun yesterday in parliament said an investigation is being conducted into the incident of not hoisting of black flag and not keeping the national flag at half-mast at the Jatiya Press Club premises on the occasion of the National Mourning Day.

Shifting of anti-liberation persons' graves from JS premises demanded

Four Heroines of the Liberation War of 1971 cladding the national flag yesterday demanded of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to shift the graves of those seven people who were against the Liberation War from the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (National Parliament building) premises to somewhere else.

Victory Day celebrated

Holding the spirit of the Liberation War, people across the country gathered at various monuments to pay tributes to the national heroes amid calls for trial of the war criminals and voting them out in the national polls.

Streets were flooded with the enthusiastic people carrying banners of different political, social, cultural and professional organisations, and singing patriotic songs.

Victory Day celebrated

The nation celebrated the 37th anniversary of liberation saluting the valiant sons and daughters of the soil who made supreme sacrifices for the independence in 1971 with a dream of building a modern democratic state.
