FBCCI for withdrawal of hartal

Leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) yesterday called upon the National Committee on Protection of Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources and Power and Ports to withdraw the declared half-day hartal on Monday considering the significance of the month of Ramzan.

Muslims all over the world celebrate Ramzan Eid also called Eid-Ul-Fitr with great jubilation on the first day of the Islamic month Shawwal. This day marks the end of Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, in which the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed. Since the Islamic calendar is based on the moon, the month of Ramadan falls at different times each year.

Move to keep market stable during Ramzan

PDB plans to add 250mw of electricity during Ramzan

Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) is going to add 250 MW of electricity on an average to the national grid daily to make up for the increased demand of power during the month of Ramzan.
