BNP takes initiative to resolve internal conflicts

The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has taken initiative to resolve internal conflicts among its leaders and workers throughout the country for the success of the national council scheduled to be held on December 8. According to party insiders, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and secretary general Khondker Delwar Hossain have been talking to various level leaders and urging them to be united in the greater interest of the party.

Secy-level talks likely on Tipai

State minister for Water Resources Mahbubur Rahman yesterday said a secretary-level meeting would be held between Bangladesh and India, if necessary, to resolve the much-talked Tipaimukh Dam issue. "If the meeting fails, even higher level talks will be held to settle the matter," he said while talking to reporters at his ministry office.
