Pakistan today dismissed Dhaka's fresh demand that Islamabad formally apologise for the atrocities committed by its Army in 1971, saying the issue was settled under a tripartite agreement between the two countries and India in 1974.
Foreign minister Dipu Moni has urged Pakistan to apologise for the genocide its army had committed in the Bangladesh's war of independence from that country in 1971.
“If the prime minister do not meet our demands, declare amnesty and withdraw army, our war will not end,” said a BDR jawan inside the BDR headquarters at Pilkhana.
Talking to reporters, many BDR jawans uttered the same demands and urged the prime minister and home minister to come. “We want to tell them that we need freedom.”
