The Council of Advisers yesterday okayed a proposal for making public the findings of a one-member judicial committee that probed the August 20-22 violence at Dhaka University.
The approval was given at a meeting of the council with Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed in the chair.
The meeting also approved a proposal following some comments and suggestions for making cyclone-warning signals and special weather bulletin simpler and time worthy.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Syed Fahim Munaim briefed reporters about the outcome of the meeting.
The advisers, the cabinet secretary and secretaries concerned attended the meeting held at the CA's office.
UNB adds: The DU probe report will be published on website, given to media in printed form or as booklet in a few days.
According to the new proposal on weather signals, there will be eight types of weather-warning signals for seaports instead of the present 11 categories while there will be six warning signals for inland river ports instead of the existing four.
Against the backdrop of recent disasters and certain reported confusion over the signalling, conducting massive campaign was suggested to make people aware about the changed weather forecast.
The meeting was also informed about the verdict of the High Court on a writ petition and order of the Supreme Court regarding change in the name of the post of upper-division clerk of the High Court to administrative officer like that of Bangladesh Secretariat employees, and upgrading the status and salary of the second-class officers.
An annual report on the performances of the ministries and divisions for 2006-07 fiscal was placed in the meeting. The report mentioned that 206 projects out of a total of 213 were implemented in 2006-07.
It also shows that GDP growth in 2006-07 was 6.53 percent and per-capita income rose to $520 compared to $482 in the previous fiscal year.
