Speakers at a painting competition yesterday called on all to inculcate the spirit of the liberation war in children as they are the future of the country.

The painting competition for the children was organised by the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) as part of its month-long Gono Jagoron (Mass Awakening) pro-gramme at the Central Shaheed Minar.

CPB General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim said there will be no development if the war criminals and autocrats are selected to govern the country through a political polarisation in the name of grand alliance.

He called upon the countrymen to be aware of the conspiracy.

He also demanded restoration of 1972 Constitution for the ultimate welfare of the people.

CPB leaders Ruhin Hossain Prince and Hasan Hafizur Rahman Sohel also spoke on the occasion.
