GAZIPUR, Feb 4 (UNB): A poor father developed mental imbalance from family feud and drowned his two minor children Tuesday night.

Abdul Haq, a peasant in his mid-30s and resident of Mudafa at Tongi took his son Ratul (3) and daughter Chhabi (5) to the pond adjacent to his home at dead of night and drowned them.

Police arrested him and the bodies of his children were sent to hospital for autopsy.

Neighbours said Abdul and his young wife were not passing happy conjugal life. Often they used to quarrel. Following a quarrel Tuesday his wife left for her parents' home at Baragram in Ashulia.
