BCS candidates on fast

The deprived candidates of 27th BCS, Bangladesh Civil Service, are on fast again in the premises of central Shaheed Minar on Monday demanding the first phase result of the cadre job examination remaining intact.

Already 10 to15 students fell sick and they were taking saline at the programme site where also some coffins have been kept.

No one expresses solidarity with the programme in the last three days, said the job seekers who earlier observed the same programme in the same place. The then Education Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman broke the hunger strike assuring them to resolve the issue.

Moreover, they did not see any positive steps despite new elected government coming to power.

The unsuccessful candidates in the second phase result also demanded resignation of PSC chairman who cancelled the first phase result of the 27th BCS intentionally. The decision was against human rights according to the human rights charter, they said.

The candidates with guardians have been agitating in this regard for four months.

One of the agitators Mamun said they hoped the present government will realise their demand and took positive decision.

The leaders of Dhaka University Journalists` Association yesterday visited the agitating BCS students and assured them to provide all possible help.
