Election to six upazilas, where polls were postponed in the wake of violence and election rules violation, will be held on April 6, an election official said today.

Md Abdul Baten, senior assistant secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, said the Election Commission (EC) took the decision in a meeting today.

The Upazilas are Brahmanbaria Sadar, Ramganj in Laxmipur, Barura in Comilla, Belkuchi in Sirajganj, Dighinala in Khagrachhari and Ukhia in Cox's Bazar.

The EC also decided re-voting in 11 voting centres for March 16. Voting in the centres was suspended following violence.

These centres are in Chowhali, Islampur, Nandail, Gazaria, Rupganj, Faridganj, Lakshmipur Sadar and Swandip upazilas.
