The law enforcement agencies will ensure three-tier " foolproof" security arrangement in and around the Central Shaheed Minar during the observance of the Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day.

Talking to reporters at the DMP headquarters yesterday, Police Commissioner Naim Ahmed said that some seven thousand police personnel will be placed on duty in and around the Central Shaheed Minar on the occasion of Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day.
There will be three sub-control rooms to monitor the situation. Moreover, women police team in riot formation, DB women police in plain clothes, Plain clothed DB special squad, SWAT Team and bomb disposal unit will be on full alert for maintaining peace and discipline in the area, he informed.
He held out the assurance that all other areas in the capital will not remain unprotected due to deployment of a large number of police personnel at the Shaheed Minar.

Special RAB members will be engaged, if necessary, to ward off any act of sabotage, Director General of RAB Hasan Mahmud Khandaker told newsmen at a press briefing at the Central Shaheed Minar yesterday afternoon.
He informed that over 600 RAB members would be deployed at the Shaheed Minar along with other security forces.
Two hundred RAB officers will keep vigil at the area in plainclothes. Besides, watchtowers and 28 close circuit cameras (CCTV) will be in place in the area, he added.
Checkpoints will be set up on Fuller Road, TSC, Doyel Crossing, Palashi, Chankharpul and BDR Gate in addition to picket at 27 points and archway barricade at six points, he further said.
A squad of 22 dogs will be active to detect any weapon or bomb, he noted.
Near ten observation towers have already been set up in the Shaheed Minar area to ensure security to the visitors on this solemn occasion.
Hasan Mahmud Khandaker urged people to maintain discipline and go by the rules to avoid disorder in the first hours of the Ekushey February.
