Several hundred students of Home Economics College staged sit-in blockading Azimpur-New Market road this morning in protest against college authority’s decision to increase re-admission fees.

Witnesses said the students took to the street at about 9:30am and started sit-in in front of their college, causing huge traffic jam in and around the area.

The agitating students also threatened to go for tougher movement if the authorities don’t withdraw their decision immediately.

The authorities recently took a decision that every student will have to pay additional Tk 505 in their yearly re-admission fees.

The protest programme was on till filling of this report at 12:00noon.
