Cabinet okays changes in ACC law

The cabinet today approved the amendment to the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.

In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the cabinet division, the amendment was approved.

The government wanted to strengthen the Anti-Corruption Commission, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told newsmen citing the PM after the meeting.

The PM also warned the commission not to harass anybody in the name of corruption, he added.

The ministers and secretaries of the concerned ministries attended the meeting.
