The construction of the railway linking Chittagong with Cox's Bazar will kick off before the Awami League-led government leaves power, Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain said today.
The minister said this after signing a deal for purchasing 50 flat wagons and five brake vans at Railway Bhaban.
TA Chowdhury, additional deputy director of Bangladesh Railway, and Manager of Chinese shipbuilding company Apshara International Yu Jian signed the deal.
The equipment of Tk 32.72 crore would be handed over to the railway authority within a year.
