ISPR concerned at talk-show comments on army

The Inter-Service Public Relation Directorate has asked private television channels to take necessary steps to inform talk-show anchors and participants not to make comments that could undermine the Bangladesh Army.

In a statement issued on Monday to private television channels, the ISPR said, ‘It has been observed with concerns that unfounded and baseless information on the army is given in talk-shows which is tarnishing the image of the army.’

‘Such comments obviously create a negative impact on the morale of the army personnel. Such discussions also create a negative impact at home and abroad.’

The directorate has sought help of all concerned on how to strengthen the Bangladesh Army, which is ‘a very important organisation in ensuring national security.’

The directorate has hoped that people involved in such talk-shows will play a responsible role in making comments, news and opinions that are sensitive for the army.
