9 hurt in BCL factional clash in Ctg

At least nine activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured when a rival faction attacked their procession brought out to observe the Jail Killing Day at Chittagong Commerce College here on Tuesday. Sources said a group of BCL activists loyal to top-notch criminal Machh Kader and outsiders attacked the procession brought out by BCL faction loyal to Awami League (AL) leader AJM Nasir Uddin on the college campus at around 12.30pm.

The attack left nine activists injured. Among the injured BCL college unit General Secretary Suman Chowdhury, Organising Secretary (OS) Jonny, activists Amjad and Shuvo were admitted to a private clinic. BCL GS Suman alleged, "As soon as our procession reached the college gate, over 40 people mostly outsiders led by criminal Machh Nabi attacked us with sticks and lethal weapons."
