Around 2,500 pharmacies in Mitford area in Old Dhaka on Saturday kept their shutters down in protest against a drive conducted in a drug house by Rapid Action Battalion in Chittagong.

Bangladesh Chemists and Druggists Association (BCDA) enforced the strike from 9:00am today. Earlier on Wednesday night, a team of Rab conducted a raid at ‘Popular Medicine House’ in the city’s Hajari Lane area and seized drugs worth over Tk 20 lakh.
