The ruling Awami League and its front organisations observed November 7 as the day of killing of freedom fighters. Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote arranged a rally and formed a human chain in front of Awami League central office demanding trial of the killers of freedom fighters on November 7. Ministers of the government and party leaders took part in the programmes.

A rally in this regard was held by Bangladesh Awami Muktijodha League's at central Shaheed Minar. State Minister for Law Adv Kamrul Islam, DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique, Adv Abu Qaosar Molla, Acting President of Sechchasebak League and Dhaka City unit AL leader Abdul Haque Sabuj, among others, were present. Panchattarer Ghatack Dalal Nirmul Committee's held a discussion at AL's central office. Amra Muktijodhar Santan also arranged the same programme at High Court mazar to mark the day.
