State Minister for Law Advocate Qamrul Islam on Tuesday asked the Awami League leaders and workers not to bring out any procession or hold rally after the final verdict on Bangabandhu assassination case on Thursday. After a meeting at the home ministry, the state minister told reporters that they asked the party men to stay calm and not to get over-excited over the verdict.
Home Minister Sahara Khatun, State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku, Inspector General of Police Noor Mohammad, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner AKM Shahidul Hoque and the lawmakers elected from Dhaka city and suburbs were among others present at the meeting. Qamrul said the law enforcers were asked to stay alert to ensure that law and order situation was under control.
