Dipu Moni assures expats of better service from embassies

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni on Tuesday said the government would increase manpower in Bangladesh’s missions abroad to provide better services to the expatriate Bangladeshis, The Daily Star Staff Correspondent Hasan Jahid Tusher reports from Rome.

The minister who is now in Rome with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also said the government would think about opening a consulate in the city of Milan where a large number of Bangladeshis live. She said these while exchanging views with expatriates at Grand Hotel Parco Dei Principi. Dipu Moni assured Bangladeshis living in Italy that the government would try its best to ensure maximum welfare of expatriates. Despite resource constraints the government was working hard for the betterment of the citizens of the country, she added.
