Local administration clamped section 144 in Targaon Hospital area of Kapasia upazila in Gazipur as BNP and Chhatra League (BCL) announced programmes at the same venue today.

Upazila BNP unit arranged a meeting on its office premises near the hospital today. Adviser to the BNP chairperson Brig (retd) ASM Hannan Shah was to present at the meeting as chief guest. Local BNP sources said they had informed the matter to the upazila and police administrations on October 7.

Meanwhile, BCL yesterday also announced to hold a reminiscence meeting at the same venue to remember its late leader Mozammel Huq. OC Mizanur Rahman said local administration imposed section 144 to maintain law and order as a tense situation is prevailing in the area.
