Visiting business leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) called the business community of France for investment in the potential sectors of Bangladesh and set up joint ventures with the Bangladeshi companies. They also urged the French business people for establishing educational and vocational training institutes in Bangladesh to facilitate jobs for the unemployed people of the country.
The leaders made the call during a meeting with the leaders of Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday at the Paris Chamber house. The 42 member business delegation of FBCCI now visiting France in a four country trip in west Europe. Roger Bacri, Head of South and South - East Asia Desk of Paris Chamber presided over the meeting while, Enamul Kabir, Ambassador of Bangladesh in France, business leaders of France and the Bangladesh businessmen working in France were also present.
Kamaluddin Ahmed, Director, FBCCI and leader of the FBCCI delegation at the meeting welcomed the French Business Community to come forward for investment in Bangladesh. Mr. Ahmed emphasised on the opportunities for the foreign investors available in Bangladesh and invited them to invest specially in the sector of Information Technology, RMG & Pharmaceuticals and joint venture in the Export Processing Zones.
Enamul Kabir, Ambassador of Bangladesh in France also addressed the meeting. The Bangladesh Ambasssador presented the current business scenario of Bangladesh and requested the French business people to come forward with investment projects in Bangladesh. Roger Bacri, Head of South and South - East Asia Desk of Paris Chamber at the meeting made a presentation about the activities of the Paris Chamber. He expressed his interest to work jointly with the business community of Bangladesh. Mr. Roger also emphasised on expansion of bilateral trade with Bangladesh.
The FBCCI Business delegation has visited Germany last week. They will also visit Switzerland and Italy. During the visit the delegation will have meetings with the leaders of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Geneva and Confindustria in Switzerland and in Italy. The FBCCI delegation is expected to return to Dhaka on 16 October 2009.
