The new work hours for government, semi-government, autonomous and private banks, financial corporations or institutions to control chaos on the streets of the capital will be enforced from Sunday (Oct 18). Banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions and all private companies will work from 10am to 6pm, while primary and kindergarten schools will have to finish business between 9:30am and 4:15pm. Secondary, higher secondary and English medium schools will start between 7am and 8:30am and end between 1pm and 2:30pm. Government, semi-government and autonomous corporations or institutions will follow the old 9am-5pm.
