Around two hundred landowners this morning staged demonstrations in protest against grabbing of around 600 bighas of land by Bashundhara Group at Chunkutia mouja in Keraniganj upazila, Dhaka. They also formed a human chain on Peghoria-Khejurbagan road near Peghoria bus stand at about 12:30pm demanding immediate stoppage of earth filling by the group.

The demonstrators alleged that Bashundhara Group has illegally grabbed around 600 bighas of their lands, of which it has already filled up over 400 bighas with earth. Meanwhile, around 200 owners of the lands have filed separate general diaries (GD) with Keraniganj Police Station in this connection.
