Bangladesh play first ODI with Zimbabwe today

In order to continue their demolition over the Zimbabwe, Bangladesh will face off the East African opponents today in the first of five-match Grameenphone ODI series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. State run Bangladesh Television (BTV) will telecast the day & night match live from the stadium at 2.30 pm.

Out of the 41 encounters between the two low ranked countries, the win-loss ratio still is in Zimbabwe's favour with 21 wins in contrast of 20 losses. But Bangladesh have not lost a series to Zimbabwe in three years and have won 15 out of their last 19 meetings.

The series that's why is a mission for Bangladesh to take the outright control in terms of overall win-loss ratio. And considering the recent statistics and form, Bangladesh will start the series as red-hot favourites. "We know if we can play as per our game plan, we can beat them with ease," Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh cleared it. Zimbabwe skipper Prosper Utseya had no reservation to deny that Bangladesh are firm favourite side. "Considering the condition and recent results, they are favourites but we want to put our best," Utseya vowed.
