Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has urged people of the country to be more aware to combat the difficulties wrought by climate change, as she addressed parliament Wednesday on her return from a development conference in Stockholm earlier this week.
"I've called on the international community to raise a viable global fund so that we and other vulnerable countries can fight losses we that climate change will bring," she said in a question-answer session as it resumed after a two-week break. "Bangladesh is the one to face losses, but it is the industrially developed countries, not we, are responsible," she said.
Citing a large part of the country's south will go under water if sea levels rises by a metre, as predicted by some scientists, Hasina spelled out a number of measures that her government has undertaken including major river dredging and raising river banks.

Hasina's aid Dr. Gowhar showed Hasina the money she can earn from the West in the name of global warming, she is after the money.
But it also serving a purpose, people are getting informed of the greatest danger coming to engulf us soon.
Sometimes, good things happen from ill effort also.
Do yours own job instead of global job
They can’t talk about present problem but cite others for a remote problem. The Global leaders and scientists are working on global issue but they can’t work on local issue unless local leaders raise the issue. The global problem yet millennium years away but the country will not get the opportunity to wait and see that because of one big country’s behavior. Everybody knows India’s contribution in global worming but all don’t know its contribution for the present suffering of Bangladeshi people. So keep the global job for global leader and work for the job you took responsibility. Raise the issue in international forum how one big country is making dessert and flood in your country.
