BNP wants to build up good relations with India: Khaleda

Opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday told the Indian High Commissioner that her party wanted to build up good relation with New Delhi so that both the countries were benefited. She said this when the newly appointed Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, Rajeet Mitter, paid a courtesy call on Khaleda at her Gulshan office at 8:35pm.

After the meeting that lasted about an hour, BNP vice chairman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury, who was present at the meeting, told reporters that Khaleda also assured the Indian envoy of extending cooperation in discharging his responsibility in Bangladesh. Seeking cooperation of BNP, Rajeet Mitter informed Khaleda that he would do his best in enhancing further the good relations between the two countries. BNP chairperson's advisers Reaz Rahman and Sabihuddin Ahmed were also present at the meeting.
