আলতাব হোসেন: নবম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ৭৪ আসনে ভোট পড়েছে ৯০ শতাংশের ওপর। আর বেশিসংখ্যক ভোট পড়েছে ১২২ আসনে ৮৫ থেকে ৯০ শতাংশ করে। সর্বোচ্চ ভোট পড়েছে রাজশাহী-৫ আসনে ৯৪.৮৯ শতাংশ। আর সর্বনিম্ন ভোট পড়েছে ঢাকা-১১ আসনে ৭২.৪৮ শতাংশ। মাত্র ৫ আসনে ভোট পড়েছে ৭৫ শতাংশের কম।
এবার জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে মাত্র ১০ জন পেশাদার রাজনীতিবিদ, ৪৪ জন আইনজীবী ও ১৯ জন কৃষিজীবী নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন। অপরদিকে ১৬৯ জন ব্যবসায়ী নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন। সাংসদদের দেওয়া হলফনামা দেখে সুশাসনের জন্য নাগরিক−সুজন গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানায়।

Twenty-five small political parties that fielded 716 candidates in the December 29 parliamentary election bagged only 2.38 percent of the total votes. However, the 148 independent candidates in the polls got 2.95 percent of the total votes while four of them won parliamentary seats.
