ADB to give $12m for tourism dev

Asian Development Board (ADB) yesterday decided to provide US$ 57.5 million for development of tourism infrastructure in three South Asian countries-Bangladesh, Nepal and India. According to an ADB press release issued from its Manila Headquarters, the bank's Board of Directors approved a total of $57.5 million in grants and loans for the South Asia Tourism Infrastructure Development Project.

Edn ministry flouts rules, transfers 400 officials

The education ministry has transferred about 400 officials of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Education) in violation of the rules that the ministry had formulated, education officials told New Age on Monday. Besides, the ministry on November 10 issued transfer orders to seven officials of the Directorate of Inspection Audit for alleged involvement in irregularities, but the order was cancelled on November 12.
