President Obama Celebrates 17th Wedding Anniversary With Wife At D.C. Restaurant

Even a president dealing with huge national and international problems has to make time to take his wife out to dinner on their wedding anniversary.

So it was that President Barack Obama took first lady Michelle Obama out to eat Saturday night at a nearby D.C. restaurant, according to pool press reports.

The Obamas chose the Blue Duck Tavern to celebrate their 17th anniversary.

The restaurant, in West End between Dupont and Georgetown serves American cuisine.

Obama's motorcade rolled out of the White House under a full moon at about 7:28 p.m. with the president in a dark suit and his wife in a little black dress, the pool reporter said.

According to the Internet, the Blue Duck is known for its crabcakes, individual apple pies, hand-crank ice cream. Along with its beef, poultry, pork, fish and shellfish, the restaurant has vegetarian entrees and an extensive list of vegetable side dishes, according to the restaurant's Website.
