Arrested : Akhter Hamid Siddiqui

Former deputy speaker Akhter Hamid Siddiqui was arrested at his house and sent to jail with 30-day detention order today after Mohadebpur police chief Elias Fakir sued him on charge of “seditious” talk. Fakir filed a general diary (GD) on Thursday accusing the ex-deputy speaker and BNP leader of threatening him with ‘dire consequences’ of arresting supporters of the former ruling party.
