Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader said yesterday the government wants to offload shares of state carrier Bangladesh Biman Airlines at its earliest convenience.
"Transformation of Biman into a public limited company (PLC) has to be ratified by Parliament before it could be floated in the capital market," he told journalists after inaugurating three-day-long ' Share- Bazaar Mela-2009' at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel. The immediate past caretaker government converted Biman into PLC through an ordinance.
The Dhaka Sheraton Hotel is organising the mela at the Winter Garden of the hotel
