The picture brought me to Elephant Road.We were a group of friends got together regularly in Elephant road when I was in Dhaka.This picture reminds me my student and professional life in Sylhet and Dhaka respectively.
I just talked to Jamidar.He is in Comilla now,and tries to cultivate his own Vumi.Actually he is a Jamidar but only to show his courtesy,he added vumuhin at the beginning of his name.

আমি কোন নতুন কথা বলিনি যার জন্যে ওহী নাযীল করতে হবে। আপনি নিজেকে মুস্‌লিম বলেছেন, একজন মুস্‌লিম-এর অন্যতম criteria -গুলোর একটা হচ্ছে "উত্তম ব্যক্তি" হওয়া। আর উত্তম ব্যক্তির অনেক বৈশিষ্টের কয়েকটি বলেছি মাত্র, যা অর্জন করা খুব কঠিন কিছু নয়। একজন ভাল মানুষ তার নিজের জন্যে, পরিবারের জন্যে, সমাজের জন্যে, রাস্ট্রের জন্যে, সর্বোপরি মানবতার জন্যে মঙ্গল জনক।

আমি দেখি এই ফোরামে আমরা বিরামহীন লিখে যাচ্ছি যার যার মতাদর্শের মধ্যে থেকে এবং কেউ কাউকে সামান্যতম প্রভাবিত করতে পারছি না। কারন এই ধরনের ফোরামের পাঠক এবং লেখক দের নিজস্ব একটা mindset আছে। তাহলে আমরা লিখছি কেন? এখানে তো কোনো "extrenal incentive" নেই। Intrinsic motivation থেকে লিখছি যার মধ্যে contribution, competetion, recognition জাতীয় উপাদান গুলো কাজ করে। কিন্তু আউটপুট তেমন কিছু নেই। সমস্যাটা হচ্ছে আমরা আমাদের নিজেদের অবস্থানে থাকতে যেয়ে সত্যের সাথে মিথ্যা সংমিশ্রন করছি অথবা সত্যকে গোপন করছি, আর এজন্যেই এখানে এতগুলো উচ্চশিক্ষিত অংশগ্রহনকারী (আমার ধারনা মতে) থাকার পরেও কোনো ইসুতে একমত হতে পারছিনা। আওয়ামিলীগ ক্ষমতায় আসলে বিএনপি-এর উপর প্রতিশোধ পরায়ন হয়ে উঠে আবার বিএবপি ক্ষমতায় আসলে আওয়ামিলীগের উপর প্রতিশোধ পরায়ন হয়ে উঠে। এই লুপ-এর মধ্যে পরে আমরাও হয়ে উঠেছি অসহিঞ্চু, অথচ আমরা এই ক্ষমতা লড়াইয়ের সুবিধাভোগী নই (কেউ থাকলে আমার জানা নেই)। সময় ব্যয় করে ফোরামে কিছু পস্টিং করা সার্থক হবে যদি আমরা সত্যকে গ্রহন করি আর মিথ্যাকে বর্জন করি। শুধু সাহস করে এতটুকু অভ্যাস করলেই দেখবেন আমরা মূল ইসুগুলোতে সাধারন ঐক্যমতে পৌছুতে পারি। আর এতটুকু অর্জনই আমাদের জাতী হিসেবে এগিয়ে নিতে সাহায্য করবে। আপনাদের মত মেধাবীদেরকে এইটুকু বলাটাই বেয়াদবি, তাই এর চেয়ে বেশী কিছু আর বলতে চাই না।
