Govt to restore spirit of ‘72 constitution: Shafique

Law Minister Shafique Ahmed on Monday said the government would take steps to restore the spirit of original constitution of 1972 after getting copy of the Supreme Court judgment over the fifth amendment to the constitution.

CPB general secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim Saturday condemned the remarks by BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain over the 1972 constitution. "Raising questions about the 1972 constitution and its framing process is tantamount to disowning the war of liberation and Bangladesh's independence," he said terming Delwar's comments unpleasant and assault on the sprit of the liberation war.
