BDR soldiers’ retirement age to be reduced to 45
Thu October 15, 2009 - 2:10pm BdSTThe final draft of the plan for reconstituting the Bangladesh Rifles, after its soldiers revolted against their officers from the army in February, proposes to curtail retirement age for BDR personnel to 45 from 57 years of age for ‘revitalising the border force.’ The BDR director general, Major General Mainul Islam, on Wednesday placed the reconstitution plan at a meeting with home secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikder in the chair at the secretariat.
