Former speaker Jamiruddin Sircar on Wednesday withdrew the writ petition he had filed, challenging the legality of the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate corruption allegations against him and its recommendation to scrap his parliamentary membership. Jamiruddin, a Bangladesh Nationalist Party lawmaker elected from a constituency in Bogra which was vacated by Khaleda Zia, withdrew the petition from the High Court bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Borhan Uddin.
