Andrew Kishore, the reknowned singer has been in the music industry for the last thirty years or so.He is one of the few singers who has received not one or two, but seven National Cinema Awards. This is seldom seen in Bangladesh, a singer so renowned that his fans -young and old, have been humming his songs for over thirty years now.
‘When someone asks what I would be, if not a singer, I find it very difficult to answer as I cannot help but only think of being a singer,’ says Fatema-Tuz-Zohra, the very renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer of the country.
When she was young, she used to take Rabindra Sangeet and Classical singing lessons. While learning, she got involved in writing and composing songs as well. It all started from that time. Directed by Arnob, her first album ‘Surjey Bandhi Basha’ was released –composition, lyrics, songs and vocals, all her own. After this, she also sang for mixed album ‘Ektarey tumi’, ‘Matir surey’ and ‘Prachir’.

"SOULS" is one of the most popular and oldest bands in Bangladesh. The contribution of this band in the field of band music in our country is noteworthy. "SOULS" came into being in 1972 and celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1997. (It completed its 25 years in 1997) "SOULS" is the only band which is surviving for such a long time.

The launching ceremony of the musical album of Kingbodonti, a joint album of band groups Dalchhut and Souls featuring songs of late Dalchhut's vocalist and journalist Sanjeeb Chowdhury, was held at the seminar room of the Central Public Library in the city Thursday evening. The labum has been released under the banner of popular audio production house Rage Records to celebrate the birth anniversary of late 'Sanjeebda' on December 25.
