People’s expectations from private universities are quite high. In the beginning, 1992-93 when private universities started to come out one after another then parents frustrated from children’s admission turned their attention on private universities.

Private varsities charging exorbitant fees Students in quandary

In absence of a uniform system, 54 private universities in the country are extracting extremely high fees from the students, making it difficult for most of them to continue their studies.

বিভাষ বাড়ৈ, ভোরের কাগজ : মালিকদের মামলার আশঙ্কা, মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তাদের অবৈধ ম্যানেজ প্রক্রিয়ার সংকটকে অতিক্রম করে অবশেষে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষার নামে চলা বাণিজ্য বন্ধ করে শিক্ষার মান নিয়ন্ত্রণের ঘোষণা দিয়ে খুব শিগগিরই জারি হতে যাচ্ছে বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অধ্যাদেশ-২০০৮। ‘অ্যাক্রিডিটেশন কাউন্সিল’ গঠনসহ গুর"ত্বপূর্ণ বিধান সংবলিত অধ্যাদেশের খসড়া চূড়ান্ত, ভেটিং শেষ করে খসড়া অধ্যাদেশকে ইতিমধ্যেই শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছে আইন মন্ত্রণালয়।
